Lauren Moy, Ph.D.
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Lauren Moy is a post-doctoral fellow at Brooklyn Minds. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University and her MA in Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Moy works with individuals across the lifespan, but has extensive clinical training in treating adolescents and young adults. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at New York City Children’s Center, Queens Campus, where she provided individual, group, and family psychotherapies and conducted comprehensive psycho-educational assessments. Dr. Moy has experience working with individuals at various levels of care, including inpatient, residential treatment, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient, day treatment, and outpatient services. She has received specialized clinical training in treating adolescents and young adults with eating disorders (Eating Disorders Program, Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Northwell Health), and has experience working with individuals with substance use issues (Addiction Institute of New York, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, now Mount Sinai West).
Dr. Moy employs an integrative approach to treatment, incorporating theory and techniques from several theoretical approaches, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), in order to cater treatment based on individual patient needs. She is committed to working with individuals and families, with consideration of their unique social and cultural contexts and backgrounds.
