Kyle McEvoy, MHC
Kyle McEvoy received his Master’s of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. He is pursuing his License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC). Kyle’s interest mental health began during high school, which grew when he was an undergraduate at Ball State University working with adolescents and families. Kyle continued his work when he moved back to New York at a nonprofit organization in Brooklyn. He has helped those overcome substance abuse issues, explore individual identity (LGBTQ), cope with psychological/cognitive/developmental disorders, accept medical diagnoses, overcome sexual abuse/intimate partner violence, and a variety of maladaptive behaviors. Kyle utilizes a client-centered base to approach mental health counseling, adapting to individual needs. He utilizes modalities such as: Art/Play Therapy, Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Multicultural Therapy, and Vocational Counseling to support the client’s needs. Kyle focuses on the needs of the individual to support their system in a healthy and clear manner to reach overarching goals. Kyle believes everyone has the capacity to better themselves if they’re willing.
